15 Minutes (2001)

A homicide detective and a fire marshall must stop a pair of murderers who commit videotaped crimes to become media darlings.

Awkwardly uneven thriller that only perfunctorily seems to deal with the more serious topic about crime and media relations, but rather stresses the action elements and violence and even seems to mix in some humour with little success.

Halliwell*: "An action thriller is combined with an angry satire on those who seek their 15 minutes of fame and the celebrity-worshipping media that encourages them; it doesn't cohere and the violence panders to the audience it condemns, but at least it is thought-provoking."

Maltin***: "Highly charged, in-your-face, sometimes over-the-top moviemaking with attitude to spare."
