A drug addicted teenage boy shows up unexpectedly at his family's home on Christmas Eve.  

Good ensemble drama provides some original ideas to tell the story of a family dealing with drug abusing child.

Secret in Their Eyes (2015)

A tight-knit team of rising investigators, along with their supervisor, is suddenly torn apart when they discover that one of their own teenage daughters has been brutally murdered.

Unusual Thriller with a twist ending, well executed, but the main attraction are the the tree lead performances.

Fireflies in the Garden (2008)

A family is devastated by an accident that takes place on the day their matriarch is due to graduate from college -- decades after leaving to raise her children.

Well-made family drama with a large ensemble of characters demands some attention, before one can peice together the stories from different time periods; the cast is splendid, especially Dafoe as the horrifyingly tyrannical father.

I Love Trouble (1994)

Two competing  newspaper reporters who join forces to unravel the mystery behind a train derailment.

Haphazard attempt of recreating and modernizing the screwball comedy is quite unfunny and unoriginal, despite even stealing some of the old jokes, and Roberts and Nolte simply don't fit as a romantic couple.

Halliwell (no star): "A romantic comedy that misses out on the romance and the wit."

Maltin**1/2: "Likable homage to vintage Hollywood bickering/bantering romantic comedies with a touch of adventure and suspense: there are even old-fashioned "wipes" between shots. Unfortunately, overlength hampers its cuteness, and reveals the degree of contrivance at work."
