Beyond the Poseidon Adventure (1979)

An extension of the previous film, wherein a cache of adventurers return to the overturned ship to seek several fortunes.

From memory: The original was no masterpiece, but Irwin once again manages to take it step lower in another cheapskate production; it's amazing how you can gather such an ensemble of stars and completely ignore their talents.

Halliwell (no star): "Dreary alternative ending to The Poseidon Adventure, with cardboard character studies, cut-price action, and tenth-rate technicalities."

Maltin*1/2: "Following THE SWARM, Caine teamed up with Irwin Allen for another career killer - a needless sequel..."

Two Rode Together (1961)

A corrupt marshal is pressured by his army friend into negotiating the release of white captives of the Comanches, but finds that their reintegration into society has its consequences.

Dark and quite misogynist Western clumsily tackles the issue of racism; Stewart and Widmark are worth the watch, though.

Halliwell (no star): "Substandard Ford, moderately good-looking but uninteresting of plot and dreary of development."

Maltin**1/2: "Fair Western..."

Tank (1984)

A sergeant major believes in Truth, Justice and America, until the sheriff of a little town puts his only son into jail of a crime he hadn't done.

Politically dubious and unfunny "feel-good" movie on the level of an average TV production.

Halliwell (no star): "Fairly lively if predictable American fantasy in which one just man stands up against the uncaring and/or corrupt mob."

Maltin**: "One-dimensional rehash of  SUPPOSE THEY GAVE A WAR AND NOBODY CAME? turns that film's shades of gray into simplistic good-guy/bad-guy story...Odd to find Garner in such a cornball movie."
