Navajo Joe (1966)

A Native American warrior called Navajo Joe seeks revenge on a gang of sadistic outlaws who has massacred the people of his tribe.

Violent and rompous Spaghetti Western hardly takes a breath to stop the action; Burt Reynolds is curiously cast as some kind of "half-breed" superhero.

The Hateful Eight (2015)

In the dead of a Wyoming winter, a bounty hunter and his prisoner find shelter in a cabin currently inhabited by a collection of nefarious characters.

 More closed-room mystery drama than a Western, this movie is slow-paced, talkative and very violent, but as usual Tarantino keeps the tension throughout helped by a great cast, excellent cinematography and a score by Ennio Morricone.

A bounty hunting scam joins two men in an uneasy alliance against a third in a race to find a fortune in gold buried in a remote cemetery.

Although extremely long (3 hours!) this final entry in the Dollar trilogy is arguably the best due to a fully coherent and interesting narrative, stylistic bravura, a splendid cast of three leads playing against each other and one of Morricone's most memorable scores.
