The Great Man (1956)
Joe Harris, preparing a eulogy for popular radio commentator Herb Fuller, finds that nobody has a good word to say about him.
Ambitious, but flawed satirical drama has some good moments, but misses its point on the way.
Halliwell**: "Patchy melodrama with a Citizen Kane framework; the best bits are very effective."

The Wonderful Country (1959)
A honorable drifter constantly on the run finds his enemies closing in around him.
Fairly good Western with a convoluted and highly construed, noir-tinged plot; Robert Mitchum makes it worth the watch.
Halliwell (no star): "Complexly plotted Western offering a range of familiar exploits."
Maltin**1/2: "Brooding Western..."
