Ceremony (2010)
Two friends are off on a weekend outing. Marshall thinks the trip is to re-establish their friendship, but Sam has ulterior motives in mind as he crashes the wedding of a woman he still loves.
Rather unfunny romantic comedy is well directed with zest, but suffers from the male lead'S thoroughly dislikeable character.
Maltin**: "Romantic comedy almost never recovers from its introduction of Angarano who is so strident it's hard to root for him - or believe that Thurman ever cared for him. Debut feature for writer-director Winkler shows promise, but by the time his two-dimensional characters finally reveal more colors it's almost too late."

The Mummy (2017)
An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.
Thoroughly derivative and superfluous attempt to establish another franchise based on the Universal horror classic (and somehow mistaking zombies for mummies); besides some splashy action and effects there's nothing much to be thrilled about.

Safety Not Guaranteed (2012)
Three magazine employees head out on an assignment to interview a guy who placed a classified advertisement seeking a companion for time travel.
Idiosyncratic light comedy with a touch of science fiction and some romance works due to the great cast and a modest approach to the story.
Maltin***: "Science fiction gets a light-hearted twist in this offbeat, well-observed comedy..."
