Practically Yours (1944)



An American hero faces marriage when a former co-worker hears his recorded message of love for his dog and thinks it was meant for her.

From memory: Likeable, but rather mediocre romantic comedy, although the two stars are always a joy to watch.

Halliwell (no star): "Silly romantic comedy which never gets going."

Maltin**: "Star's expertise redeems contrived story..."

From memory: Another good, witty and fast-paced romantic comedy from a master of the genre.
