Armed with only one word, Tenet, and fighting for the survival of the entire world, a Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.

Aside great production and dazzling visuals the over-construed plot with moving backwards moments is hard to take, especially you're trying to find any logic in it. 

Life (2015)

 

A photographer for LIFE Magazine is assigned to shoot pictures of James Dean.

Carefully directed and beautifully photographed study of a short historic friendship is more focused on Dennis Stock's perspective, Robert Pattinson delivering an excellent portrait of the man.

Good Time (2017)

 

 

After a botched bank robbery lands his younger brother in prison, Connie Nikas embarks on a twisted odyssey through New York City's underworld to get his brother Nick out of jail. 

 

Downbeat thriller makes it best delving into all that could go wrong with committing a crime, albeit out of brotherly; Robert Pattinson is perfect as the unfortunate crook.

The Lighthouse (2019)

Two lighthouse keepers try to maintain their sanity whilst living on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

Captured in meticulous b/w cinematography, set in a barren landscape and with extraordinary performances by the two leads, this is a dark, at times almost surreal tale of the two men's descent into a mutual love-hate relationship and ultimately into horror and madness.

The King (2019)

Hal, wayward prince and heir to the English throne, is crowned King Henry V after his tyrannical father dies. Now the young king must navigate palace politics, the war his father left behind, and the emotional strings of his past life.

Great historical drama with great period detail, cinematography, amazing battle scenes and overall good performances - and a twist ending of sorts.

High Life (2018)

A father and his daughter struggle to survive in deep space where they live in isolation.

Leftfield and dark sci-fi drama explores interpersonal relationships and human nature under extreme conditions; it helps to ignore the scientific components of the tale.

The Rover (2014)

10 years after a global economic collapse, a hardened loner pursues the men who stole his only possession, his car; along the way, he captures one of the thieves' brother, and the duo form an uneasy bond during the dangerous journey.

Extremely well-made and performed doomsday drama is very violent and conveys a bleak world without heart and redemption.

The Lost City of Z (2016)

True-life drama, centering on British explorer Col. Percival Fawcett, who disappeared while searching for a mysterious city in the Amazon in the 1920s.

Nicely-made adventure with a sturdy cast and some good nature photography manages to convey the dangers of the jungle, but not much of the explorers' real compassion.
