Bloodline (1979)

When her father is murdered, a pharmaceutical heiress becomes the next target of an unknown killer amid the international jet set.

From memory: Despite all the effort in production value and an all-star cast this is a disappointingly messy and barely mediocre thriller.

Halliwell (no star): "Involved all-star-suspense shocker which seems constantly about to be better than it ever is."

Oh Heavenly Dog (1980)

A murdered detective must avenge his murder after he is reincarnated as a dog.

From memory: Mediocre comedy with quite a lack of taste: the dog steals the show.

Halliwell (no star): "Witless fantasy comedy, an uncredited remake of You Never Can Tell which also rates as a Benji movie with curious additions of sex and profanity. A total muddle."

Maltin**1/2: "Benji (in his third film) is as adorable as ever as Chase's alter ego."

The Baltimore Bullet (1980)

A tale of two hustlers trying to set up a big game.

From memory: Mildly entertaining and lively pool sharks comedy; at least the cast seemed to have had some fun.

Halliwell (no star): "Flabby comedy attempting a lighthearted version of The Hustler. The rewards are meagre."

Maltin**1/2: "Pleasant enough film..."

La fabuleuse aventure de Marco Polo (1965)

Young Marco Polo travels to China to help Kublai Khan fight against rebels, headed by his own son, with a new invention: gunpowder.

Entertaining and colorful, but wildy unhistorical Hollywood adevnture tale.

Halliwell (no star): "Curious mixture of melodrama and pantomime, with a star cast half playing for laughs."

Maltin**1/2: "Laighable mini-epic, extremely choppy, with episodic sequences pretending to recount events in life of medieval adventurer."

The Night of the Generals (1967)

In 1942, a Polish prostitute is murdered in Warsaw, and suspicion falls on three generals, and a major of German Intelligence seeks justice despite the ongoing atrocities committed during WWII.

Despite good pruduction value the movie goes on way too long at a slow pace, mixes too much historic events with the plot and never really arouses much interest for its crime mystery.

Halliwell**: "A curiously bumpy narrative which is neither mystery nor characzer study but does provide a few effective sequences and impressive performances. The big budget seems well spent."

Maltin*1/2: "A WW2 whodunit, film has potential but gets lost in murky script, lifeless performances. A dud."
