Well-intentioned and heartfelt drama based on a true story presents some great special effects and godd performances by Carrell and Mann, but there's an unbalance between its fantasy and reality segments, so that the real-life scenes seem more artificial than the imagined ones.

Well-meant, likeable vindication of the female African-American's participation in NASA is professionally staged with an excellent cast, but is disappointing in its bending the singular success stories into white savior tales.

A chronicle of the childhood, adolescence and burgeoning adulthood of a young, African-American, gay man growing up in a rough neighborhood of Miami.

Brilliantly written and directed study of  a young man's struggle with concepts and restraints of masculinity and identity; multi-layered and with stellar performances throughout.
